Love Bugs Bulletin Board! Kindergarten/First Grade Concert Promotion
This concert has come together pretty neatly with lots of fun songs and cute actions. I’ve learned with a school full of English Language Learners that you don’t push for too much in the K-1 program each year. Parents and family are content with cute kids up singing fun and easy songs. Of course I want the best for my students and I push them into harder music and harder music each day, but I’d choose process over product any day.
In this program I stick with fun and cute instead of push and push, cutting out classroom time that could be used for other content, so that we could have a big production. I choose the music for my K-1 programs to be fun, relatable for parents, teachable for me, and offers content that aligns with the thinking skills and teaching topics that are grade appropriate.
Love Bugs Bulletin Board Elements
All that said, here’s the bulletin board! The concert was on February 13th and since it was the day before Valentine’s day it seemed impossible not to throw out some love songs. I didn’t want it to be ALL love songs and so my art teacher suggested “Love Bugs” which allows me to add in any songs about love AND bugs and anything else that’s related. If you want to learn more about the songs and content in the show check out this blog post.
Thanks to dafont.com for the wonderful free font called “Heartland” and to the many awesome pins on Pinterest that helped inspire the Love Bugs that I created! Here’s a link to my Pinterest page dedicated to love bugs in case you want to see what inspired me.
