Celebrate Caroling!  Switchin’ Up that Bulletin Board

I’ll admit that I’m a bulletin board person… a bulletin board fanatic maybe?  I love adding new color and getting kids excited about something different.  I use the Composer of the Month sets by Sara Bibee and change them out every month.  I also change out my monthly “Moral Focus” bulletin board which features two new famous musicians every month and talks about how each musician exemplifies the moral value of the month.  I love this set because it teaches about composers and their lives at the same time that it tells kids about character traits.  And then of course I have to change my monthly calendar set to show off the famous composers, musicians, producers, and musical artists who were born each month.  That’s a lot to change every 1st of the month, I know (but the kids get so excited about each one… I can’t stop now!).

I wanted something fun and easy to fill up my “achievement” board in the hallway this December.  This bulletin board space is front and center in our school and in an extremely busy hallway.  I wanted to display something seasonal and fun and colorful that will get kids excited about music in December.  I also didn’t want to change out my blue background fabric (because that takes SO much more time than just changing content/posters on the front).  So, I printed out and posted this new set called “Celebrate Caroling!” which tells the history of caroling, gives a little information about famous carols, and has cute little images of kids riding musical snowflakes!  It took me a total of 30 minutes to print, laminate, cut out and post on the board.  Check out the gallery above to see pictures.
