  Sousa/Ostwald Award — October 1
  Composition contest for wind band.
• Chamber Music America — March
  Two different grants for the composition of new works:  Classical/Contemporary grants and Jazz Grants
• Davidson Fellowship — March 
  Open to students who can demonstrate noteworthy achievements through the creation of a “significant piece of work” aimed at improving the lives of others.
• NewMusic USA — Deadline April 1
  Supports artists in residence, composition of new music, music for dance, recording costs.

Field Trips & Experiences

• Sharon Gewirtz Kids to Concerts Fund — August 15
  The mission is to support music education by providing children with the opportunity to experience classical music firsthand at live performances. 
• Target Grant — September 30
  Throughout the year, Target stores provide education grants to local K-12 schools to support educational field trips.

Instruments & Classroom Supplies

• Classics for Kids Grant — Quarterly 
  Provides grants for high quality string instruments.
• Fender Music Education Grants — Rolling Deadline
  Program provides affordable music instruction in guitar, singing and song leading to educators in 31 states.
• Keys + Kids Grant from VH1 Save the Music — March 15th
  The winners of the 10 available Keys+Kids grants will receive a piano valued at $10,000 to support their music and arts program.
• Mr. Holland’s Opus — March 20
  Focused specifically on programs where there is a high Free/Reduced lunch rate.  For instrument purchase.
• Ray Charles Foundation Grants — Sept. 30
  Priority is given to requests for programs that enhance the education services for the underserved and disadvantaged youth at varying academic levels esp. if you serve visually impaired students.
• Rural School and Community Trust
  Helps develop and expand practices that accelerate student achievement and prepare every student to succeed in college and in their careers.

Performance Funds

• Aaron Copland Fund — June 30
  To support performing organizations of serious contemporary American music.
• Music Performance Trust Fund — Rolling Deadline
  Providing grants to help create free music performances for the public’s entertainment and education.

Scholarship, Salary, Education Funding

• Amateur Chamber Music Players — Aug, April, Dec.
  Generally being used to provide scholarship aid, underwrite staff salaries, and  chamber music workshops.
• Chopin Foundation Scholarship — May 15
  Scholarship is to support talented American pianists through up to four years of preparation for the National Chopin Piano Competition.
• MTNA-Teacher Enrichment Grant — January
  To provide assistance to music teachers for private study, specific college-level course work or other projects that will enhance the performing and teaching skills of the applicant.
• School Band and Orchestra Essays — December 31
  This scholarship offers prize money to students who write an essay of 250 words or less on a music theme.
• Twenty Teaching Scholarships to Pay for School
  There are literally thousands of scholarships provided by universities, government programs such as the FAFSA, associations, nonprofits, and corporations.
• Williams Chorale Bacardi Fallon Scholarship — March
  For high school juniors and seniors pursuing vocal or instrumental studies.
• VSA Arts International Young Soloists Award — November
  Given annually to four outstanding musicians or ensembles who have a disability.

  To provide teens with places and opportunities to develop 21st century technology skills especially Music production.
